Interior Design Photography // Quill
We were over the moon when talented interior designer Pip Goldsbury asked us to shoot fresh imagery for her new website. Pip had just finished work on a stunning home and felt that her latest refurb was a good representation of her style. Pip kindly sent over a mood board of photographs she liked as inspo for us and she’s also a great freelance writer so was able to communicate clearly to us her photography brief. Here are a few highlights from this fabulous shoot…
“R+A Creative are an incredibly talented due who have produced the most beautiful images for my website and social media. More than just photographers, Robin and Andie were able to interpret my rambling brief and create something wildly wonderful that resonates perfectly with my style.”
Pip Goldsbury, Interior Designer, Quill.
When we do an interior shoot we like to be on location at the property from early morning light until sunset as we carefully follow the way the light fills the property.
We can never resist photographing a cheeky cat or a gorgeous dog enjoying the warmth, light and space of their home. Pip designs interiors for families who want a fun, contemporary space to hang out in and enjoy life together.
The flow of indoor and outdoor space was important to capture at this incredible home which is a fantastic pad for a dinner party, BBQ or just a place to chill with a glass of pinot in front of the outdoor fire. This home is a renovated kiwi bach which has several outdoor dining options with views over the harbour.
Clever Pip even added a place for the Tui’s to perch and feed on the balcony. That’s the skill of an interior designer who considers all guests and how they experience a space. It was important for us to capture the level of detail and thought that she puts into her design so that transferred well to her new website.
Pip keeps an eye on New Zealand and international art and this hallway between upstairs and downstairs is filled with some extraordinary and colourful pieces. Who would have thought a rusty old farm saw could look so good on the wall?
Pip was recognised as an exceptional interior designer by Houzz in 2022 and received their ‘Best of Houzz’ award. Houzz regularly use the photographs we shot for Pip to inspire their readers who are looking for the latest trends in interior design.
This teenage girls bedroom (below) is super stylish and very cool.
Rugs, mirrors and reflections. We like to look at the space differently each time we walk into a room through out the day and capture it from many different angles. Close ups and just ‘hints’ of design objects can really help a graphic designer jazz up their web design.
Walking into this space was like stepping into a ‘NZ Home and Garden’ magazine. Making sure a property is presented beautifully ahead of a shoot is incredibly important. If there are fire places to be lit and photographed we always do that towards the end of the day as we make sure we get the ‘clean’ shots first.
Over the years we have worked out that the best way to photograph a property is to simply hang out in it for a day. If you have a fabulous home that needs photographing or you’re an interior designer looking to refresh your website or document your latest work please do get in touch with us at R+A Creative. We are available to shoot throughout New Zealand and internationally.
